High Quality, Custom Sewing Excellence

Goodwin-Cole brings over 100 years of industrial sewing expertise to every custom cover. Our team of skilled seamstresses and craftsmen build each cover with meticulous attention to detail. We use heavy-duty threads and proven techniques to create seams that won’t split or fray. In fact, we offer reinforced stitching options like double-stitched and even triple-stitched hems for extra strength and longevity. Every seam, hem, and panel is carefully sewn using professional-grade equipment that can handle thick canvas, vinyl, and other heavy fabrics.

The result is a cover that not only fits perfectly, but is also rugged enough to withstand regular use and harsh weather without coming apart. Our in-house industrial sewing capabilities mean faster turnaround and consistent quality control on your project. We don’t outsource the work – your cover is made start-to-finish by our experienced team right here in our facility. This hands-on approach, combined with our century of know-how, ensures a level of quality and durability you won’t get from mass-produced generic covers.

Custom Design & Fabrication

What sets Goodwin-Cole apart is how we blend traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge fabrication technology. Our custom covers benefit from advanced Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and automated fabric cutting tools that take precision to the next level. We can digitally pattern your cover’s design to exact measurements, then cut the fabric on our CNC textile cutting machine with exceptional accuracy and efficiency. This automated cutting process ensures every piece of material is cut perfectly to size, and it maximizes fabric yield (minimizing waste) – a big advantage when using high-quality or specialty materials.

After cutting, our team expertly assembles and fabricates the cover to your specifications. We incorporate any special features you’ve requested (such as handles, vents, grommets, windows, etc.) and ensure all components fit together flawlessly. If you ever need another identical cover (or a set of covers), we can produce additional pieces on demand, whether you need one or many, with the same perfect results each time. Goodwin-Cole’s investment in modern fabrication technology ensures you get the best of both worlds: handcrafted quality and high-tech precision.

Materials That Last

Your custom cover is only as good as the material it’s made from – and that’s why Goodwin-Cole offers a wide selection of premium fabrics to suit your needs. We’ll help you choose from a wide variety of materials appropriate for outdoor use, or we can even work with a specific fabric you provide. Our offerings include heavy-duty vinyls, sturdy canvas and duck cloth, marine-grade acrylics, industrial nylon/polyester weaves, mesh screen fabrics, and more. All our fabrics are chosen for their ability to handle the outdoors: they are generally water-resistant or waterproof, UV and fade resistant, and treated to resist mold and mildew.

We are also committed to using materials that are safe and environmentally friendly. In fact, many of our most popular fabric lines are GREENGUARD-certified by UL for low chemical emissions, meaning they meet strict standards for healthier indoor/outdoor air quality. If eco-friendly options are important to you, we can guide you to materials that help create a healthier environment without sacrificing durability. And of course, you’ll have a vast range of colors, patterns, and textures to choose from – so your custom cover will not only protect your belongings, but also complement your home’s style. Goodwin-Cole sources fabrics from leading mills and suppliers, ensuring that your cover is made from the best materials available in the industry.

Features & Options

We can use double-stitched or even triple-stitched hems for extra strength on edges and high-stress areas. This prevents fraying and helps the cover hold up to heavy use or wind.

Add tie-down points or integrated buckles and straps so you can firmly secure the cover to your item or an anchor point. These keep the cover from shifting or blowing off in strong winds.

For covers that need a snug fit, we can include drawstring cords or sewn-in elastic bands in the hem. These let you cinch the cover tight around irregular shapes or around the bottom of furniture.

We offer heavy-duty zippers or Velcro® hook-and-loop closures to make it easy to put the cover on or take it off. Zippered panels or Velcro flaps can also allow access to parts of the equipment without removing the whole cover.

Rust-resistant grommets can be added for tie-down cords or locks. We can also attach plastic clips or other fasteners that make securing or aligning the cover more convenient.
